Sculpture creation is a very messy mental activity and process that concludes and applies the elements of intuition, memory, imagination, thought and emotion etc. where emotion is one of the vital elements for artistic creation and the soul endowed by artists to the works without exaggeration.
Sculpture is the embodiment of emotions and feelings. Feeling plays a vital role in the artistic works from the perspective of work details. There will be no feelings without emotions and no art without feelings. Art is the spiritual homeland for mankind beyond material life while sculpture is a kind of formative art that embodies the form and structure in 3D space. Different from common arts of painting, the primary form of expression for such shaping art is to portray stereo artistic image by means of forms and formative combinations in different spaces. This image could be minute, touchable and existing in the real space.
Sculptor is just expressing their mental emotions and spirits through such detailed artistic image and generates ideological echoes with spectators via such emotions and spirits so as to affect the spectators and fulfill the creative purpose. Thus, in my opinion, in sculpture, the depiction of form is a powerful reflection means while the expression of spirits and emotions is the purpose that sculptor seeks.
That is to say, what sculpture embodies is shape while it is the feelings and emotions that sculpture reminds. In other words, sculpture is not a brief copy activity but rather a recreation of forms. It seeks something that closes to spirits and feelings further; namely, it is sculptor's recreation of his one-sided knowledge about natural things and the artistic form to express the sculptor's emotions on this account.
