Round sculpture, also called "free-standing", is the three-dimensional art that are not attached to any surface and can be looked at from every angle. The sculpture in the round is a purely solid image, standing freely in the space. So, during the creation, the sculptor must consider the aspects of volume and weight, as well as the different angles so that viewers can see the artwork from all sides. Relief sculpture, also known as "convex carving", is a projection artistic image arranged on a flat surface. It is often distinguished according to how high the figures project from the surface, encompassing high relief and bas-relief. High relief, remains to the background with high projection, while low or bas-relief, projects slightly from the background. Openwork sculpture, it is defined between round and relief. It is made on the basis of relief sculpture, with background carved away, but it is still attached to the surface, which looks like a round sculpture carved on a flat surface.
