A native of Wuhan, Hubei Province. Studied at Affiliated Middle School of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in 1957;

He entered into the Sculpture Department of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in 1960, and stayed for teaching since graduation in 1965.

In 1978, he admitted to Central Academy of Fine Arts, and advanced to further study in the postgraduate courses at the Department of Sculpture. 

Former officer of sculpture department of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, member of China Artists Association;

He moved and settled in Hong Kong in 1984, then joined the HK Sculptors Association;

Now, he serves as a tutor in art courses at the University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong, and set up an art studio.
